17. february
The ice just by the sea
Stekkjastaur - see map of the routes
Today 27 of February we take pictures and there you can see that it is plenty of ice everywhere.
Yesterday were minus 7° and good weather.
Old story of Iceland says that the day yesterday should have 18 brothers.
It mean that at least next 17 days will be good for ice climbing!!!
The Captain Hook M9+ area is now very good!
Stekkjastaur WI 5/6 is strong and ready for climbing.
A lot of ice everywhere
This area is 200 m from the sea
Michelle Moore, from Colorado, climbing over the sea
Michelle on the top!
The way to the dark cave!
The Landrover was waiting for James, Julie, Michelle and Brian when they came to the airport in Akureyri.
They had the car all the time they were staying in Björg. This photo of the Landrover is taken 50 meters from the climbing area.
They were all smiling when they left!
These last five pictures are by James, Julie, Michelle and Brian from Colorado
They were climing in Kaldakinn first days of February 2009, and the ice was very good and got cold weather.
The last two weeks have been very cold in Iceland sometimes down to 20° and in the Icebjorg area is now lot of ice.
